Nancy grew up on a ranch near Fairburn, South Dakota. She enjoyed drawing and creating art as a young person and pursued her artistic interests in high school and later at Chadron State College. She is a retired high school art teacher and now shares her love of painting by teaching adults watercolor. Nancy enjoys creating in a variety of art mediums but her first love is watercolor. “ l find great joy in the spontaneity of the watercolor and love to experiment and explore new ways to approach this media.”
She has had the opportunity to participate in a number of workshops with professional artists so finds her art ever evolving. She is a charter member and signature member of the Northern Plains Watercolor Society and finds it hard to believe that NPWS is celebrating 25 years. It is remarkable how this organization has promoted the growth and interest in the watercolor artists of this area. There is an incredible number of talented watercolorist in this area that are involved in NPWS. She participates and has been an award winner at the NPWS annual shows. She also is a member of the Dakota Artist Guild and does a yearly art workshop for the organization.
